Marble Falls ISD Announces Samara Weinstein as the new Head Girls Soccer Coach
Marble Falls ISD is excited to announce the approval of Samara Weinstein as the new Head Girls Soccer Coach. Weinstein has been part of the soccer community in Texas for nearly 40 years. She spent her youth playing for clubs in both the Dallas and Houston area. Coach Weinstein culminated her high school playing career as a first team all-state player and multiple other distinctive playing awards; as well, a state tournament appearance. She continued her playing career collegiately at Centenary and Texas Tech, graduating from Tech with a degree in Exercise & Sports Science. After Weinstein graduated college, she ultimately became a high school teacher and soccer coach. There have been head coaching stints at Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, Boerne Champion High School and moving to San Antonio MacArthur. Coach Weinstein is now excited to bring her experience to Marble Falls. “We are excited to have a coach like Coach Weinstein at our school to help grow the girls’ soccer program into what we know it can be. She has proven herself time and time again as a coach, and we feel blessed to have her” said Coach Rick Hoover, Athletic Director.
In her tenure at Champion, her teams made the playoffs all nine years that she was there. Those years included 3 state tournament appearance (’09,’10,’17) and four regional tournament finals (’09,’10,’11,’17). During that time, she was named San Antonio girls’ high school coach of the year in 2010 and runner up in 2011 and 2017. In 2009, Weinstein was elected to the board of Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO). Since, 2009, she has held multiple positions on the board. Those positions include Regional Director, Treasurer, Vice-President, President and now Past-President. During this time, she has been able to help grow high school soccer in the state of Texas through coaching education.
