Marble Falls ISD Introduces New Education Foundation

A group of dedicated community leaders have come together to form a foundation structured to directly support Marble Falls ISD public schools.  The Marble Falls Education Foundation (MFEF) has announced their focus to enhance community support and to expand resources that enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize learning and scholarship opportunities for all students in Marble Falls ISD.  The Highland Lakes Legacy Fund, through the Austin Community Foundation, has been raising educational donations for MFISD since 2006.  HLLF will continue to raise funds to support other local non-profit organizations.

“We have valued our partnership with Highland Lakes Legacy Fund and the extraordinary generosity they have shown to this entire community,” said MFISD Superintendent, Dr. Chris Allen.  “It is in that tradition that the Marble Falls Education Fund seeks to accomplish its goals of helping MFISD become its very best.  MFEF will use funds to support the creative and innovation teaching that will best position our students to be more competitive in the global marketplace.”

The sole purpose of the newly formed Marble Falls Education Foundation is to benefit Marble Falls ISD students and teachers by providing scholarships for students and funds for educational programs and activities not funded by the normal operating budget.  The Education Foundation funds will facilitate student achievement and skill development, recognize and encourage staff excellence, and expand community involvement from individuals, businesses and civic organizations.  Funding priorities will also include funds for innovative teaching grants that will provide resources directly to the classroom for teachers to implement exciting new educational programs.

The Marble Falls Education Foundation is a charitable organization under the Internal Revenue Service section 501 (c)(3) and contributions to the organization are tax deductible.   According to Pam Parkman, The MFEF Executive Director, the idea for the foundation grew from a need to focus on raising supplemental funds that directly benefit the programs serving teachers and students at Marble Falls ISD.

“I am thrilled to be able to get involved in this organization by seeing the TANGIBLE gifts that are making a positive impact in the classroom,” said Kara Stewart, MFEF Board President.  “Whether you are a parent, a former student, or even a local business owner, we need your help to empower teachers by pledging your support for our District.  Each year we will be awarding grants to teachers and scholarships to students, but it will only be possible through your generous donations.”

If you have questions, or to pledge your support for the MFEF, please contact Pam Parkman at, or by calling 830-798-3588.
