Marble Falls ISD Career and Technical Students Organizations Shine in State Competition

Smokin’ Mustangs BBQ Team

This year, under the direction of Ms. Victoria Riback and with support from several parents, the BBQ pits were dusted off and fired up, and our students showed they had the talent to compete with the best! At the BBQ competitions, the students entered different categories, such as pork chops, tacos, chicken, ribs, and chili, and earned points based on how well they did in each category. In our first year back behind the pits, our students qualified for the Texas High School State BBQ Championships, held in Burnet at the start of May.

The Smokin’ Mustangs finished 48th out of 86 teams overall, with the highest finisher being pork chops, which placed 14th.

Our Smokin’ Mustangs for this year are: Sophia Biagini, Hailley Williams, David Camacho, Carson Parmer, and David Molina.
