Marble Falls ISD appoints Keri Timmerman as new Athletic Director/ Head Football Coach


Superintendent Dr. Jeff Gasaway recommended Keri Timmerman for the Athletic Director/ Head Football Coach position, and the recommendation was approved by the MFISD board of trustees at the regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday, December 18, 2023. Timmerman emerged as the final candidate following a rigorous selection process that saw 102 applicants striving for the position.


The extensive search and evaluation process began with a thorough review of the applicant pool, resulting in 23 virtual interviews. Subsequently, eight candidates were selected for in-person interviews. After a final round of interviews and mindful consideration, Keri Timmerman emerged as the ideal candidate to lead MFISD's athletic program.


Keri Timmerman brings a wealth of experience to Marble Falls ISD, with a diverse background encompassing middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. His impressive resume includes roles across multiple districts as recruiting coordinator, speed and strength coordinator, offensive coordinator,  track coach, assistant football coach, head football coach, and athletic director. His experience in various levels of management give him insight on how to run a team of coaches at all levels, while keeping the ultimate focus on student development. Coach Timmerman holds an undergraduate degree from Baylor University and earned a Masters in Education in Sports Administration and Management from Hardin-Simmons University.


Keri Timmerman is not only dedicated to the field but also to his family, faith, and community. His wife, Natalie, is a fourth-generation teacher and currently serves as a kindergarten teacher. The Timmerman family consists of three children—18-year-old Addi, a student at Texas Tech University; 16-year-old high school student Doak; and 13-year-old middle school student Brock.


Rooted in faith and service, the Timmermans consider themselves a football family, viewing coaching as their family's ministry to the world. Keri Timmerman is known for being faith-driven and service-centered, both on and off the field. The family's commitment to education and community involvement reflects their belief in the transformative power of sports and education. Coach Timmerman has a long-standing history of involvement with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), serving as a Summer Football Camp Director for thirteen years and acting as Founder and Director of the FCA Coaches Clinic for nine years.


The Marble Falls ISD community eagerly anticipates the positive impact Keri Timmerman will bring to the district's athletic programs and the broader community. His proven track record, leadership qualities, and commitment to fostering a culture of excellence align seamlessly with the district's aim for athletic success and student development while loving and inspiring each individual.


Dr. Jeff Gasaway said, “We heard from the Marble Falls community what they hoped for in a new Athletic Director/ Head Football Coach, and we are confident we found the right individual to fulfill this important leadership position in Marble Falls. Coach Timmerman will continue to build successful athletes with strong character who will be given every opportunity to grow personally and as an athlete; we have the fortune to have him building up our youth here in Marble Falls ISD.”


Coach Timmerman believes in building better athletes through strength and conditioning that can be carried across all sports. He envisions a program where students can participate in as many sports as they'd like to experience, fostering a well-rounded athletic journey. Moreover, he advocates for coaches working collaboratively, allowing all coaches access to all athletes.


Timmerman aims to create an inclusive environment by opening the doors to youth coaches, encouraging collaboration, and implementing consistent programs and philosophies across all levels. His vision is to establish a seamless progression of athletes driven by the same principles and focus over the years.


“My family and I are excited to join the Marble Falls community, and I am excited to have the opportunity to serve the coaches and kids in Marble Falls ISD.  We chose this district because of the communities’ history of support for its students, fine arts and athletics, and because of the administrations’ mission to focus on loving & serving its students,” expressed Coach Timmerman.


Timmerman’s official start date with Marble Falls ISD on January 8, 2024. A meet-and-greet event will be announced at a later date for the community to have the opportunity to provide a warm welcome to our new athletics leader.
