Marble Falls ISD Decreases the School Tax Rate for Fifth Consecutive Year

During the August 22nd, 2022 meeting of the Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees, the Board took action that decreased the tax rate by more than four cents and represents a rate decrease of 4%. The District was able to take this action while continuing to meet the academic needs of students, providing a compensation increase for staff, and providing the District with the funds to retire debt ahead of schedule. Marble Falls ISD continues to show financial efficiency and sensitivity to tax payers even as the State continues to decrease its share of public school funding, maintain processes that determine property values, and increase the amount of money ($10 million more in 2022-2023 than the previous year) it takes from local taxes to fund State level priorities. The leadership of Marble Falls ISD appreciates the community for their on-going support of public education.
