Marble Falls ISD Names New Colt Elementary Principal

During the Monday, March 21, 2022 meeting of the Marble Falls ISD Board of Trustees, Melissa Fletcher was approved to serve as the next Principal of Colt Elementary School.

“Mrs. Fletcher comes to Marble Falls ISD having established a record of success at every step of her career.  As a teacher, instructional coach, and most recently as the Marble Falls Elementary School Assistant Principal, Melissa has been a stand-out for her compassion, high expectations, and natural leadership abilities,” said Dr. Chris Allen, MFISD Superintendent.

Mrs. Fletcher has a long history of with MFISD.  She is a proud graduate of Marble Falls High School.  All of her teaching and administrative career have been in Marble Falls.  She has served as assistant principal, instructional technologist, G/T Specialist/Challenge Lab teacher and kindergarten teacher.  She earned a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas State University and her Master’s in Education Leadership from Texas Tech University.

“I am vested in the community and I love the people of Marble Falls. My time here as a student, teacher, and administrator in the district will serve me well as I take on this new position,” said Mrs. Fletcher. “I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to lead with love and desire to inspire those around me at Colt Elementary. I am committed to continuing a vision that has made Colt Elementary a fantastic place to learn and grow.”

The current Colt Elementary School Principal, Mrs. Erika O’Connor, will be joining MFISD Central Office to serve in the role of Director of Elementary Education.  Mrs. O’Connor will remain in her role for the remainder of the school year. During the spring months, Mrs. O’Connor and Mrs. Fletcher will work together to ensure a smooth transition.
