Mustangs to Promote Kaitlyn Goertz to Head Volleyball Coach
Marble Falls High School has promoted assistant coach Kaitlyn Goertz as the new Head Volleyball Coach for the Lady Mustangs.
“Coach Goertz has done a wonderful job for MFHS, both as a coach and a teacher. She is an excellent math teacher and we are so excited to have the opportunity to promote her to head coach,” Athletic Director Rick Hoover said.
Coach Goertz enters her third year with the Mustangs and will continue her role as an outstanding high school math teacher.
“I am super excited to continue working with the Lady Mustang Volleyball program and to build on the solid foundation that we have,” said Goertz. “I have been the varsity assistant for the past two years and know the girls well and look forward to building something special for MFHS.”
Originally from San Antonio, Texas, Goertz was a multi-sport athlete at SA Marshall High School where she excelled in volleyball and basketball. Coach Goertz also played many years of club volleyball in the San Antonio area.
Recruited by several schools to play volleyball at the collegiate level, Goertz ultimately made the decision to play college basketball at Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas. As a member of the Lady Mountaineers, Coach Goertz helped the team to a 10-4 conference record on their way to the program’s first ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Tournament Final during the 2015-2016 season.
After graduating from Schreiner, Goertz began her career coaching volleyball and basketball in Fredericksburg ISD.
