Marble Falls ISD Hires Abigail Blunt to Lead Lady Mustangs Soccer
Marble Falls High School has hired Abigail Blunt to be the new Head Soccer Coach for the Lady Mustangs.
Blunt comes to Marble Falls after serving as the assistant soccer coach at Little Elm High School this past season. Before heading north, Blunt was the head soccer coach at Bastrop High School for two seasons.
“We are very excited for Coach Blunt to join our team. She brings a wealth of soccer experience to our program, both as a player and as a coach. She is also a proven teacher and has a passion for teaching,” Athletic Director Rick Hoover said.
Coach Blunt enters her fifth year of teaching and will join the Math Department at Marble Falls High School.
“I have enjoyed seeing the game of soccer from the perspective of a high school player, college player, assistant coach and head coach, and I feel very excited to lead the Mustang soccer program,” Coach Blunt said. “I also have had the privilege to teach math in Bastrop and Little Elm, and look forward to doing the same in Marble Falls.”
A native of Temple, Texas, Coach Blunt played collegiate soccer at Hardin-Simmons University. As a goalkeeper for the Cowgirls, Blunt was part of four straight American Southwest Conference (ASC) championships which included a trip to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2012. Blunt was also named to the ASC All-Academic Team three times while playing for the Cowgirls.
