Honorees are nominated and voted through by their peers as professionals who best exemplify the work, dedication, focus, and passion for loving and inspiring students at each campus. Following that determination, a District Committee is tasked with narrowing the list further to select one elementary teacher of the year from all four elementary campus nominations and one secondary from all three campuses.

Our MFISD District Teachers of the Year have also been recognized through peer recognitions and social media celebrations by each campus. They will also be recognized during our state-of-the-year District Convocation in the fall. Teachers are also featured on district/campus websites and through your personal acknowledgements for a job well done.

District Teachers of the Year will now move on to compete for the Central Texas Regional distinctions in the annual Region XIII Teacher of the Year Awards.
