Marble Falls ISD Begins Remote Instruction Supports

As Marble Falls ISD begins remote instruction, we are very proud of our teachers and staff. They have done a tremendous job of quickly reaching out to families and being proactive in helping our community. The teachers and staff throughout our campuses have rallied around our kids to ensure that they are still getting the services and education they need. Outstanding stories are beginning to emerge of our teachers going above and beyond for our students.

Since Monday, teachers and staff have reached out to approximately 3,200 students. The information gathered from these calls allowed the district to provide the necessary services for our community.

Marble Falls Child Nutrition gave out over 310 meals on the first day of service and over 590 meals on the second day of service. We will continue to pass out meals and examine ways to make this service more individualized. Please make sure to visit www.marblefallsisd.org frequently for updates to food service locations. The district is also working with local non-profit groups to keep fed as well.

On Wednesday, March 25th, the district began passing out devices to students and families in need. The time to pick up devices was extended to comply with the “Stay in Place” order that came in Wednesday afternoon. By 8 p.m. Wednesday evening, MFISD distributed over 1,600 devices to assist with the move to home-based instruction.

Our Technology Department has also helped our teachers and staff not only with computer hardware but with passing along online resources and tutorials to help with instruction.

For those needing internet service, district Wi-Fi can be accessed in the parking lot of all Marble Falls ISD campuses. The district is still looking at setting up mobile hotspots for students.

The Athletic Department has worked to bag up items that were left in locker rooms at the middle school and high school. Students will be able to pick up their stuff when they return to school. All locker rooms will be disinfected so that we can continue to have the cleanest facilities possible. In other areas, our Athletics Department also pitched in with device deployment for our students.

As we continue to push forward, our teachers and staff are living our district philosophy of having an unyielding commitment to love and inspire our students.
