Chloe Pierce
I teach English 1 and Reading. I graduated from Baylor University, and I grew up in Burnet. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but my career took some interesting turns before I finally ended up in the classroom. I spent 6 years working in the media with PBS and NPR. Then I worked for a decade with individuals with disabilities. I think it makes me a very well rounded and patient teacher.
I like to find creative ways to make learning relevant and interesting to students, and I really love to make those connections that develop lifelong learners. Teachers made a huge impact on my life, and I hope to be able pay forward the love and inspiration they provided!
A little about me personally:
I get teased that I have “Old Lady” hobbies like knitting and crochet. I love to read mysteries, ghost stories, true crime, and historical novels- especially about WWII. I consider myself a history buff, and I teach Social Studies along with English to adults studying for their GED outside of school.
If you see me out in public, I probably have my headphones on because I am always listening to podcasts or audio books. I like to draw and I love plants, so my classroom is filled with art and green things! I have a son at the Middle School, two dogs, and two cats that keep me super busy.
