Ashley Bernard, Principal
Mrs. Bernard is a "lifer" from Lake Travis, and upon high school graduation, she attended Texas A&M University where she majored in Exercise Physiology. Mrs. Bernard earned her Masters degree in Education Administration from Concordia University-Texas and is in the process of earning her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She is beginning her 19th year in education, and her 3rd as principal at Marble Falls Middle School. Prior to MFMS, Mrs. Bernard was the Athletic Trainer at Lake Travis High School for 7 years before moving into the classroom, and eventually into Administration. Mrs. Bernard had the pleasure of starting the STEAM Academy which now operates as a school-within-a-school model. Outside of school, Mrs. Bernard and her husband, Jeff, have been married for 15 years and have 1 child, Brighton, who will be a 7th grader in the STEAM Academy this year. She and her family love all things sports, and especially love cheering on the Aggies!
Haley Wheeler, Associate Principal (STEAM Academy Students)
Mrs. Wheeler is from Lampasas, Texas. After graduating from Lampasas, she headed to Texas A&M University earning a degree in Political Science. Mrs. Wheeler earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M-Central Texas. She started her teaching career in 2007, teaching 6th grade Language Arts. Mrs. Wheeler has also taught middle school history, been a K-5th interventionist, and a District Gifted and Talented Coordinator. She was a middle school Assistant Principal in Copperas Cove, Texas prior to joining the Marble Falls family.
She and her husband Shawn have been married for 22 years, and they have 3 children. Their oldest, Cole, is a sophomore at The University of Texas (yes, we have a house divided). Their daughter, Aspen, is a junior in high school, and their youngest, Cale, is a freshman. You can usually find the Wheeler family at a field, court, or track when they aren't at school!
Angela Haas, Assistant Principal (Middle School Students M-Z)
Ms. Haas comes from a military family, so she moved around some as a child. She calls Ruidoso, New Mexico her home because that’s where she went to high school. After graduating from high school, Ms. Haas attended the University of New Mexico where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Criminology. After graduation, she followed in her father’s footsteps and joined the military. After finishing her military service, Ms. Haas moved to Texas and decided to obtain her teaching license. This will be Ms. Haas’s 14th year in education and her 2nd year as an assistant principal at Marble Falls Middle School! Ms. Haas earned her Master's degree in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. Prior to Marble Falls, she taught in Leander ISD. Ms. Haas has taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. She has also taught both English, language arts, and social studies. Ms. Haas and her family enjoy most water-related activities, and you will often find her, her sisters, her nephews and their families, and their 6 dogs hanging out at the eldest sister’s pool!
Logan Docherty, Assistant Principal (Middle School Students A-L)
Mr. Docherty is from Marble Falls and is a proud graduate of Marble Falls High School. After graduating from Marble Falls, he attended Texas State University where he earned a degree in social work. He later earned his Masters degree in Educational Leadership from Texas Tech University. Prior to school administration, Mr. Docherty began his teaching career in 2014 at Marble Falls Middle School. During that time, he served as a math teacher, coach, and positive behavior teacher. He previously served as a middle school Assistant Principal in Lake Travis, before returning to Marble Falls in 2020.
Mr. Docherty is married to his Marble Falls High School sweetheart, Maggie, who also works in the district as an elementary teacher. They are proud parents of two children who are also students in the district. The Docherty family loves all things sports (especially the Houston Astros, Red Raiders, Longhorns, and Liverpool FC) but especially enjoy spending time with family and friends.
