Lee Ann Johnson, CAE, is an association executive with over 25 years of experience in the association industry. Ms. Johnson is the Director of Member Services for the Texas Dental Association (TDA) where she oversees all aspects of member-related services for 9,100 members including leadership development, complaint resolution/peer review, the ethics and judicial program, the Association’s website, computer systems administration, and all member-directed external communications of the Association.
Ms. Johnson also directs all recruitment and retention efforts, brand-awareness, social media and marketing campaigns for TDA. Since 2006, Ms. Johnson has received over 29 national awards in the areas of membership growth, recruitment and retention.
Lee Ann supervises the publication of the Association’s scientific journal, the Texas Dental Journal which is the second oldest continually published dental periodical in the world; publication of the monthly member newsletter, TDA Today; and Smart Mouth which is a patient education supplement focused on the benefits of good oral health.
She is a member of Texas Society of Association Executives (TSAE), the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the American Society of Constituent Dental Executives (ASCDE). In 2013, Ms. Johnson earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential. The CAE is the highest professional credential in the association industry. Ms. Johnson has also been a featured speaker at the annual American Dental Association Management Conference.
Prior to working for TDA, Ms. Johnson worked for the Texas State Teachers Association in the Field Services Division for 15 years. At TSTA, she supervised support staff for over 15 regional offices, coordinated volunteer leadership workshops for teacher members and had oversight of the state student organization. Lee Ann is proud to say that her father is a retired teacher, her grandmother was a high school counselor and her grandfather was a high school principal and coach.
Lee Ann attended school in Marble Falls ISD. She is the extremely proud parent of daughter, Amanda Grace Johnson, MFHS Class of 2014, who is attending the University of Texas and majoring in Public Relations. Lee Ann and Amanda moved back to Marble Falls in 2007 from Round Rock. Ms. Johnson volunteered in many roles throughout her daughter’s school career including serving on the PTA board of her daughter’s elementary school, serving as the Marble Falls MS PTO President for 3 years, the Marble Falls Athletic Booster Club Cheer Representative for 3 years and the Marble Falls Spirit Booster Club President for 2 years.
Ms. Johnson also serves as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for the Highland Lakes area.
