Louis Long and William Crow from Poodie’s Party, a non-profit organization that supports local music and ministry in the Spicewood area, brought a wonderful surprise to the SWE students during their Monday morning assembly.  The duo presented SWE Music Teacher, Candace Mahaffey, a check for $3,343.41 to benefit the school’s music program.

“This donation will be used to purchase resources for the music classroom such as instruments and music,” said Mahaffey.  “It is wonderful to have the support of our local community enriching the lives and education of our students.”

The non-profit Poodie’s Party organization honors Poodie Locke, Willie Nelson’s Stage Manager for 34 years.  Poodie was known as the “King of the Roadies” and helped many young musicians get their start in the entertainment business.
