The Marble Falls Middle School Concert and Symphonic Bands earned 1st Division ratings during last Tuesday’s University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region 29 Concert and Sight reading competition at Boerne Champion High School.  Both bands received 1st Division awards in both their stage performance and in sight reading.  Because the Bands received 1st Division ratings in both events, each band was also awarded a Sweepstakes trophy, the highest achievement awarded by the UIL in this competition.

“We are so proud of both of our Bands’ performances,” said Band Director, Rachel Faehnle.  “It is especially satisfying to see our performers’ hard work and dedication pay off for them when they earn a 1st Division Rating during the Sight reading competitions.  That’s where they have to play a piece of music they've never seen before!”

Faehnle noted that the UIL judges were extremely complimentary of both bands.
