The Marble Falls Construction Trades Program was one of only two school programs in Texas, and ten Nationwide, to participate in the Toll Brothers Builders National Groundhog Day Job Shadowing event.  MFHS students traveled to the 2,100 acre Travisso master planned community in neighboring Leander to explore all of the career trade opportunities available in the building industry.  The Toll Brothers’ mentoring event was designed to showcase to students the number of different in-demand careers that are available to students trained in workforce ready programs.

“Toll Brothers took the whole day to show our students everything that goes in to a master planned community,” said Construction Trades Teacher, Shawn Reed.  “From the master plan, to individual blue prints, to foundation work, to framing, to finish carpentry, to delivery of a new home, our students had the chance to see it all in one place.  Our students received more than a hard hat and a complimentary lunch.  The job shadowing day opened up their eyes to the incredible number of opportunities that will be available to them after they complete the Career and Technology program at MFHS!”
