Members of the Marble Falls High School National Honor Society (NHS) have been collecting donations of non-perishable food items over the last two weeks as part of their Fall Service Project.  Close to 100 percent of the students in NHS participated in the food drive by bringing in 30 or more items.  All of the donations are slated to support local families in need.

“We sent over three truckloads and one SUV this afternoon,” said Diane Woods, NHS Sponsor.  “That amounted to four tons of food for holiday tables in our community.  KK McLeod and I are so proud of our NHS students’ efforts, and the efforts of kids not even in NHS, who pitched in by bringing food and helping us load it.  Thanks also to our husbands for driving it over to the Helping Center.

This year’s NHS food drive produced twice as much food as last year’s drive.  NHS President, Wolf Williams, is quick to thank the NHS volunteers and the community members who supported the effort to put food on the Holiday tables of all of the families in the Marble Falls area.

If you would like to donate, or if you are in need of support, the Helping Center is located at 1315 Broadway Street, Marble Falls.  For more information, visit:
